Clearwater County has LIFTED the evacuation alert for everyone west of Beaverdam Provincial Rec Area and east of the Bighorn Dam, including the hamlet of Nordegg.
As of 6:30 p.m. on MAY 7, officials with Clearwater County say RWF031 (fire southeast of Nordegg) is now classified as being held.
However, please remain on alert. If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE.
The fire ban and ohv restriction remains in place for all of Clearwater County, all burning is prohibited. Read more: www.albertafirebans.ca.
Please avoid the area to allow firefighters to safely continue work in the area.

Meantime, according to Clearwater County, as of 7:09 p.m. on May 7, 2023, the Sunchild Road is now open.
The situation, however, remains dynamic. Officials say there will be smoke in the area, so motorists should use caution.
Remaining impacted roads: O’Chiese Road, east of Sunchild Road and west of the Nordegg River.
