The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit are seeking the public’s assistance to locate a man charged with second degree murder.
RCMP say, on May 8, 2023, Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a report of a shooting on the O’Chiese First Nation. On arrival, officers say they found 31 year-old Brett Roan deceased. According to RCMP, an autopsy was conducted on May 9, 2023 at the Calgary Medical Examiners officer and the death was deemed a homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has obtained an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Boyd Beaverbones, a resident of the O’Chiese First Nation, for one count of second degree murder. Mounties note, Boyd Beaverbones remains at large and investigators are asking for the public’s assistance to locate him.
Boyd Beaverbones is described as:
- 5’10” tall
- 155 lbs
- Black hair
- Brown Eyes
- Medium Complexion
- Has a prosthetic left leg
Boyd Beaverbones is said to be in the Sunchild/O’Chiese, Rocky Mountain House or Red Deer areas. Officials say Beaverbones, may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Beaverbones is asked to call the Rocky Mountain House RCMP at 403-845-2881.
