A long period of heavy rain continues throughout Clearwater County.

Officials note Breton Plots received 31 mm of rain on Sunday.
Additional amounts of 40 to 80 mm are expected before rain tapers off by Wednesday.
Officials say heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Motorists are asked to avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ABstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ABStorm.
