The Hamlet of Nordegg is putting a call out to all area artists.

Are you passionate about capturing the beauty of our local ecosystem? Do you enjoy bringing to life the intricate details of plants, birds, insects, fish, amphibians, and small mammals that make our region so special?

Nordegg and Clearwater County are looking for local art contributions for their Nordegg & Area Species Identifier Project.

County officials note, artists of all ages are invited to participate.

Here are the specifications for your artwork:

• Realism, not abstract art
• Each artwork should feature one subject in vibrant colour on a pristine white background.
• Acceptable media, watercolour, pencil, acrylic, ink, or photography.
• Each artist may submit up to five subjects.

Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2023.

To participate, drop off your creations at the Nordegg Discovery Centre, along with a contact sheet for each artwork.

Officials say, they can’t wait to see your incredible artwork and share it with the local community. Join them in showcasing the rich tapestry of Nordegg’s natural wonders through the eyes of our talented artists.
