A member of the Rocky Museum went before town council on Tuesday saying they are running out of space on their property.
Museum president Allan Furlotte said that the museum is running out of room, but they still have plenty of things they’d like to put in.
During his presentation, Furlotte explained they are requesting an approximately 28 additional feet from the south fence.
They’d also like to have the southwest corner redone in a way which would ultimately give the museum about 3,000 square feet.
Meanwhile, the museum’s five-year plan also includes closing in the implement shed for more inside storage, then building a new implement shed on the south fence line if council approved to give the museum more land.
During the review, council asked administration if they could look to see how far they could expand the museum lot, which could potentially prevent the museum from having to ask for more space in the future.
Town administration recommended to council that administration comes back with a full review regarding more information. Included in the information needed by council is if this would affect the Recreational Master Plan.
A motion was put forward by council that administration further investigate the Rocky Museums request and bring it back to council at the next meeting, which was unanimously carried.
