Due to increasing concerns with safety and aesthetics of the old Nordegg Cemetery, Clearwater County is conducting specialized maintenance to address the major issues.

County officials say, this may include shoring up headstones, removing broken grave covers, and replacing deteriorating fences. The goal is to make sure the cemetery is safe and well-kept for everyone to visit. Officials add, the work will be respectfully handled by a skilled professional, experienced in cemetery rehabilitation.

The maintenance for the cemetery is currently underway. Officials say, the completion date is weather dependent, and is expected to continue into September.
