The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre has delayed its re-opening.

Back in August, the Town of Rocky Mountain House announced the Aquatic Centre would be closed from Sept. 1, 2023 until Nov. 30, 2023.

Town officials note, the 2023 Capital Budget earmarked $1.4 million for the aquatic centre upgrades. Officials say, this includes $700,000 to replace the main pool filtration system, and $700,000 to replace the HVAC system, which have been in the pool since it opened in 1977.

On Monday, the Town shared due to construction delays of the new air handling system and main pool filtration equipment, The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre will not open Dec. 1, as planned.

However, the building will be open Friday (Dec. 1) from 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to facilitate purchase of special event tickets and lesson registration.

Town officials add, a new re-opening date will be announced soon.
