The off-leash dog park in Rocky Mountain House has officially moved.

Town officials say regular trail users would have noticed a new fence go up just north of the old site. Officials add, the double gate has been transferred to the new location, and is now open for canines.

Perks of the new location include:

• 3 acres (.5 acres bigger than previous location)
• Treed area and open greenspace for dogs to run and play
• Flat, dry ground
• Adjacent to walking trail
• Just 200 meters north of old location

Town officials note, the old location is now closed. A sign will direct users to the new location.

New Dog Park, same rules:

• Use at own risk
• Dogs required by law to be leashed and muzzled must remain so
• Dog excrement must be picked up by the owner
• The dog park is not suitable for young children
