A rear end collison has led to drug charges against a Rocky Mountain House man.
On Nov. 29, 2023, Leduc RCMP say they responded to a two-vehicle collision where a vehicle was rear ended on Highway 39 east of Range Road 254 in Leduc County. While investigating the collision, an officer observed an unattached licence plate inside one of the vehicles. A query of the plate showed it to be stolen and the driver was arrested.
A search incidental to arrest resulted in the seizure of the following:
- 98 grams of methamphetamine
- 5.79 grams of cocaine
- Drug packaging materials
- Small quantity of ammunition
- Stolen licence plate
Dallas Justin Goodrunning, 34, a resident of Rocky Mountain House, was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000.
- Obstruct a peace officer
- Operation while prohibited
As well as four offences under the Traffic Safety Act.
Following a judicial hearing, RCMP say Goodrunning was released from custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on Dec. 21, 2023.
