Nominations for the vacant councillor position in the Town of Rocky Mountain House close on Monday.

Since former councillor Shane Boniface resigned on Nov. 7, 2023, there have been two candidates who have entered their name for the upcoming by-election, note Town officials

The list of candidates include:

• Sarah Fotty
• Glen Waskewitch

Residents are reminded that the deadline to apply for the vacant councillor position is Jan. 29, 2024, at 12:00 p.m..

Town officials note, the by-election to fill the vacant councillor spot is on February 29, 2024. Advanced voting will be on Feb. 8, and Feb. 24. Individuals interested in running can visit the Town’s website to download the handbook for candidates.
