The Nordegg and Sundre areas both broke daily high temperature records for January 29 on Monday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Nordegg area set a new record high for Jan. 29 with the temperature reaching 15.9 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 10.0 degrees Celsius set in 1976. Records in this area have been kept since 1915.
Meanwhile, the Sundre area also set a new daily high record with the temperature hitting 13.1 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 12.0 degrees Celsius set in 2017. Records in this area have been kept since 1993.
