The Town of Rocky Mountain House has once again earned a Canadian Award for Financial Reporting. Town officials note, this a great achievement for council, staff, and the entire community.
Town officials say, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recognizes the Town of Rocky Mountain House for its annual financial report, for the fourth consecutive year. The most recent report, for the year ending December 31, 2022, is available to residents online.
The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a local government and its management. Canada has 3,573 municipalities and only 84 have achieved the award.
According to the GFOA, the annual financial report has been judged by impartial Canadian Review Committee members to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” designed to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
