Rocky Mountain House town council has resolved to expand a program designed to help business owners spruce up the appearance of their buildings.
The Storefront Improvement Program, originally launched in 2012, provided a one-time matching grant to business owners and property owners located in the downtown commercial area to renovate their storefronts.
But now, mayor Debbie Baich says a lot more people can apply. “Now we’ve opened up the program to include any commercial business. If you have a business in the industrial area. If you have a business that was outside that [original] business revitalization zone. Now this grant program is opened up to you.”
The mayor also says the program will now contribute up to five thousand dollars for a storefront renovation. “If you were painting and putting up signage and putting up trim and you spent over ten thousand dollars [the town] would grant you back five thousand [dollars] if you fell into the criteria.”
