A trio of local municipalities recently came together in hopes of creating a shared vision for the future.
At a tri-council meeting held on Dec. 13, Clearwater County, the Town of Rocky Mountain House, and Village of Caroline Councils all endorsed creating a shared vision statement for future regional growth to help the municipalities collaborate, advance shared priorities, and discern needed solutions for shared challenges.
Using the Stronger Together agreement as a foundation, officials say the objective of a shared vision statement is to communicate a strong purpose and motivate people to work together, despite their differences and external obstacles, and focus on accomplishing common goals. Officials add that a regional vision statement serves to inspire the community to have a clear guide for future courses of action.
“Council believes in the spirit of the 2013 Stronger Together Agreement – Building Opportunities for Our Future, that the development of a common vision for cooperation and collaboration between our municipalities will enable us to take advantage of opportunities for developing common solutions or responses to broader challenges that affect this region.,” said Clearwater County Reeve Daryl Lougheed.
“The Town of Rocky Mountain House is working together to create a shared vision with our regional municipal partners,” said Town of Rocky Mountain House Mayor Debbie Baich. “We are pleased at the commitment from everyone to find a common vision and happy to be working together for the benefit of our entire community.”
Village of Caroline Mayor Debbie Nelson added, “A great opportunity to work with our neighboring municipalities and grow stronger together.”
