At least eight different community organizations are set to participate in a highway cleanup near major routes in the Rocky Mountain House, Sundre & Caroline areas on May 4, 2024.
According to Lawrence Bailey, foreman at Volker Stevin Highways in Rocky Mountain House, the roads being cleaned up this weekend are major routes improved by the Province and his organization.
Bailey says motorists should expect to see highway cleanup crews from 7:00 a.m. to around 4:30 p.m. throughout the region.
“Keep an eye out, they’re all going to have vests on,” says Bailey. “Watch out for the kids. We all know how they’re busy picking something up and they don’t always pay attention to the vehicles.”
Officials say area routes improved by the Province include Highways 11, 12, 22, 53, 54, 587, 591, 752 & 761.
A roadside cleanup for routes improved by Clearwater County is scheduled for May 11.
