As the cooler than average weather continues in much of Alberta this week, a temperature record was broken in Rocky Mountain House this week.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Rocky Mountain House area set a new record low for June 18 of -2.1 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of -2.0 degrees Celsius set in 2016. Records in this area have been kept since 1915.
According to ECCC, the average overnight low in the central Alberta region for June 18 is 7.5 degrees Celsius.
