A central Alberta man is facing charges after a local business was set on fire this week.
On June 19, 2024, at 7:58 a.m., Innisfail RCMP received a report of an individual spraying gasoline on a commercial building east of Innisfail.
While en route, RCMP were advised that the suspect had lit the gasoline and business was on fire. Reports also indicated that the suspect had fled in a vehicle.
RCMP quickly located the vehicle and suspect who was arrested. Mounties say fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, however, there was significant damage to the building. Fortunately, say police, no injuries were reported.
RCMP have charged Clearwater County resident Tyler John Giglia, 39, with:
- Arson;
- Break and enter with intent.
RCMP say Giglia was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with a court date set for June 20, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
