The town of Rocky Mountain House smashed a previous weather record for July 10.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), July 10 saw temperatures boil over to 35.2 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 32.1 set on July 10, 1985.
The Nordegg area also set a temperature record for the same day.
ECCC data shows it got as hot as 32.7 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 30.9 degrees Celsius set July 10, 2002.
The Sundre area also saw uncomfortably hot, record-breaking temperatures.
ECCC data shows it got as hot as 33.9 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 31 degrees Celsius set July 10, 2021.
Records in this area have been kept since 1915.
