Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a special weather statement for the Rocky Mountain House area, warning of heavy rainfall and strong winds expected to begin Tuesday night.
The advisory is also in effect for an area ranging from Drayton Valley in the north right to the U.S. border.
According to ECCC:
“Showers will intensify tonight and continue through the day on Wednesday. Upwards of 40 mm is expected by Wednesday evening. Strong northerly winds will develop early Wednesday morning, with gusts of 80 km/h expected. Winds will weaken later Wednesday afternoon.”
The forecast calls for 13 degrees as a high on Wednesday, and down to 6 overnight, before it gets balmy once again on Thursday with a high of 23.
Friday’s forecast calls for 26 degrees and sunshine and it’ll possibly warm up even more on the long weekend, with 27 and 29 in the forecast for Sunday and Monday.
