Job seekers and those seeking qualified employees will be descending on the Rocky Mountain House Regional Recreation Centre on Sept. 5 for a Career Assistance Network ‘mini’ job fair.
A wide variety of local employers will be on site, says Ashton Selig, marketing specialist and employer liaison at Career Assistance Network, including construction, oil and gas, human services, retail and trades.
The Career Assistance Network is a private organization that works with the provincial government with the goal of helping people find jobs, says Selig, and has been working in the central Alberta area for over 25 years.
Billed as a ‘mini’ job fair, Selig says the event is a precursor to the larger Career Assistance Network job fair which is scheduled to happen Sept. 11 at the Pidherney Curling Centre in Red Deer.
The Career Assistance Network also helps job seekers with other tasks such as résumé and cover letter prep, interview prep, help with safety tickets, among others, says Selig. The organization is regularly at the Rocky Mountain House Century 21 offices downtown (4915 50 St.) every first and third Tuesday.
Organizers say the job fair is free to attend for job seekers, and free for prospective employers to register. To register, businesses with job openings can call 403-341-7811.
The fair will take place Thursday Sep. 5 in the Subway room at the Rocky Mountain House Regional Recreation Centre from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
