The Rocky Rams dropped both of their Thanksgiving road games in southern Alberta.
Going into the weekend, head coach Wendall Mason said special teams would be key during the two-game stretch.
However, while the Rams penalty kill was strong, the team failed to capitalize on three powerplay opportunities against Coaldale, including a major penalty in the first period.
Ultimately, the Rams gave up five unanswered goals in the second period on their way to a 6-2 loss to the Coaldale Copperheads.
The Rams then played the red hot Medicine Hat Cubs on Oct. 13. Despite goaltender Cole McLean making 33 saves, the team was badly outshot and lost 5-2.
Rams forward Cooper Lawrence found the score sheet in both games, and currently leads the HJHL in points with 18.
The 4-4 Rams will play game four of their five game road trip Saturday Oct. 19 in Red Deer against the Vipers.
