The Good Samaritan Clearwater Centre in Rocky Mountain House is seeking volunteers to help with a number of local initiatives.
For two decades, the Good Samaritan Clearwater Centre has been providing continuing care services for residents, says Jennifer Andrews, volunteer and recreation adviser.
Among the volunteer positions being sought, Andrews say it is looking for a driver to take residents on outings within the community and outside of the community. She adds, it’s a great opportunity to bolster residents’ mental health and overall well-being as many don’t have family around.
Another volunteer position is “loving spoonful” which consists of helping residents during meal time at breakfast, lunch and supper.
Additionally, Andrews says they’re seeking volunteers to simply be a companion and spend time with residents as many of them do not have a family close.
Currently, Andrews says the Clearwater Centre has approximately 25 volunteers that come in throughout the week.
If anyone is interested, they can pick up a package at the centre (5615 60 Street, Rocky Mountain House) or call 403-845-6033, ext. 63224.
