Registration is now open for West Country residents to have their float in the upcoming Parade of Lights in Rocky Mountain House.
The Rocky Kinsmen club will once again be coordinating the annual parade which is set to taking place Saturday Nov. 30.
Dustin Bisson, Parade of Lights chair says the rules for the parade are pretty simple: “The more lights, the better,” he says.
It is free to register your float, says Bisson, and since it’s all about having fun, there will be no prizes or ribbons handed out.
Bisson says the annual event has proved to be a big draw for not only locals, but bringing people from outside the community to Rocky Mountain House.
“It’s certainly one of the best (winter parades) in central Alberta, if not the entire province,” says Bisson.
Staging for the 2024 Parade of Lights will be on 60 St. north of Poplar Blvd. near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The parade is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. and head down 60 St. before turning onto 52 Ave. and then finishing up on Main St.
To register your float or participate, people can call the Chamber office at 403-845-5450 or email info@rockychamber.org.
Floats can also be registered online here.
