The 2024 Passport to Christmas campaign is off to a roaring start, with more than 700 passports completed in the first week alone, amounting to approximately $70,000 in local spending.
A total of 53 businesses have signed up to participate in the passport program.
Participants can pick up a “passport” at participating businesses, which they can fill out for a chance to win prizes.
For every $10 spent at participating local businesses, one stamp is earned. Once participants collect 10 stamps, they can enter the draw.
This year’s prizes include a first-place prize of $1,000, a second-place prize of $500, and a third-place prize of $250—all awarded in Chamber Bucks, to be spent at participating local businesses.
Additionally, Michelle Meatheringham says that participants have a chance to win $100 every day. Completed passports will be collected every Thursday, with $100 prize draws held early the following week.
Local businesses can sign up as a sponsor or participating business at any point during the campaign, Meatheringham says. Those interested can email admin@rockychamber.org.
The promotion runs from November 12 to December 22, with grand prizes drawn on December 23.
Meatheringham says the 2023 passport promotion tracked $2.5 million in spending at local businesses and invites everyone to join this year’s campaign to increase that number.
Participating businesses will be recognized on air on 94.5 Rewind Radio and on social media.
