The Rocky Mountain House Filipino Association will be hosting its annual Christmas Party at the largest venue it’s ever used.
The celebration will happen Dec. 21 at the Lou Soppit Community Centre.
The party got too large for previous venues in the event’s 14-plus-year history, says organizer Fely Mackay.
It originally started out at a small space at the Rocky Legion, says Mackay, eventually moving up to a slightly larger space at the Church of the Nazarene. Now, she says organizers are thrilled to be hosting it at Lou Soppit.

The event will feature a dinner with both Filipino and western dishes.
Also, there will be plenty of activities for families including games and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus who will have treats for kids.
Folks can also enter a draw for raffles and a 50/50, says Mackay.
Local DJ Gerry Bradshaw will also be providing the music.
Tickets are for $30 for those 12 and up. Kids under 11 are free.
Door open at the Lou Soppit Community Centre at 6 p.m. with the event starting at 6:30 p.m.
