Clearwater County interim council meets for the first time, elects interim Reeve and Deputy Reeve

Clearwater County’s new interim council has met for the first time following the amalgamation of Caroline which became official on New Years Day.

Representing the newly formed municipality (hamlet of Caroline) on the interim council is Coun. Barbara Gibson.

Following a secret ballot among council, Michelle Swanson was elected reeve, while councillor Bryan Cermak was elected deputy reeve.

The new interim council also confirmed council meeting dates for the remainder of its term which is as follows: January 7, 14 & 28, February 11 and 25, March 11 and 25, April 8 and 22, May 13 and 27, June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22, August 26, and September 9 and 23, and October 14.

The last day for nominations for council is September 22. The interim council will serve the newly formed municipality until the next municipal election on October 20, 2025.
