The Rocky Rams are off to a roaring start in the New Year, racking up another two wins over the weekend.
Depth scoring was key in Rocky’s 7-2 victory over the Ponoka Stampeders Friday. Grady Mofford, Owen Green, Kyle Goodrunning, Dextin Dieterle-Reimer, Jake Smith, Reid Christiansen and Keagan Landry all found the net during the game.
On Jan 12, the team scored a pair of shorthanded goals– one from Cooper Lawrence and another from Dextin Dieterle-Reimer to help lead the team to a 3-1 victory against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder.
The 11-17-1 Rams are 3-0 since the start of the New Year; however, head coach Wendall Mason says they’re taking it all in stride.
“We’re not looking at the standings right now. We’re taking it one game at a time. At the end of the season, we’ll see where we’re at,” he says.
The team returns Jan. 17 on the road against Ponoka, with a home matinee on Jan. 19 against the 25-3-1 Sylvan Lake Wranglers.
