The Rocky Rams improved to 12-18-1 with a split between the Ponoka Stampeders and the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on the weekend.
Friday’s road game against Ponoka saw the team extend its 2025 unbeaten streak to four, with a 5-2 victory against the Ponoka Stampeders.
Grady Mofford scored a pair in the effort, which also saw markers from Dextin Dieterle-Reimer, Jake Smith and Reid Christiansen.
The Rams then faced off against the HJHL- leading Sylvan Lake Wranglers on a Sunday afternoon home game.
As head coach Wendall Mason says, despite a 5-2 loss to Sylvan Lake, it was a good effort.
“Everything’s trending the way we want it to,” he says. “We just take it one game at a time, and try to get into the last playoff spot.”
On Saturday, the Rams will visit a team they’ve become very familiar with this season. For the fifth time this year, the team will face off against the Three Hills Thrashers.
Mason says it will likely be the biggest game of the season, as the Rams are currently one point behind Three Hills for the final playoff berth with a game in hand.
Puck drop is Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Three Hills.
