Rocky Mountain House town council has endorsed, in principle, a new Mutual Aid Agreement with Clearwater County to cooperate on regional emergency management.
The endorsement comes after the previous Clearwater Regional Emergency Management (CERMA) agreement expired on Feb. 20, 2021.
Town officials say the Mutual Aid agreement has been created to increase the emergency planning and response capability of the community to access needed services such as hazard identification, fire response, evacuation and accommodation services. The Mutual Aid agreement is a collaboration between administrations from both the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County.
The new Mutual Aid agreement was presented to councilors in Rocky Mountain House on March 22, where they would agree to the new terms. Clearwater County officials have yet to review the new agreement with council members. However, that is expected to happen at the next Clearwater County council meeting on April 12.
