For the first time, the West Country’s new “community transformation” initiative will host an event open to the public.
Unstoppable Conversations has been leading a series of community workshops in the region. The next one will take place at the Walking Eagle Inn & Lodge on Feb. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Launched in November 2024, the initiative brings together community business leaders and local members to create an “unpredictable future” for the region. The organization aims to shift the community’s mindset from “why bother?” to “what’s possible?”
The public is invited to learn more and get involved in this initiative. Four impact projects have been identified so far:
- Business/Council Collaboration
- Youth Engagement
- Nonprofit Collaboration
- Housing
To support the initiative, the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County each contributed $10,837.50, while the Rocky Chamber covered the remaining 50 per cent.
Unstoppable Conversations CEO Kevin Gangel will also emcee the Denim & Diamonds awards ceremony at the Lou Soppit Community Centre on March 7.
Those interested in attending the event can RSVP by emailing admin@rockychamber.org.
