Hot weather throughout the province has brought new temperature records to Alberta once again.
After temperature records were set in some Alberta communities on Tuesday, meteorologists with Environment and Climate Change Canada say the Nordegg area unofficially reached a new record of 29.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, beating the old record of 28.4 degrees Celsius set in 2009.
Records in this area have been kept since 1915.
A record was also unofficially broken in the Sundre area on August 31, with the temperature reaching 31.3 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 28.9 degrees Celsius set in 2009.
Records in this area have been kept since 1993.
