The Rocky Rams suffered two home losses over the weekend.
On Friday, the Three Hills Thrashers came into town for a game against the Rams.
The Rams would open the scoring in the first period with a powerplay goal at 5:32 thanks to Quinn Tomalty, with assists coming from Jake Smith and Nick Jervis. At 17:57, however, the Thrashers would tie the game 1-1 after Riggs Ringdahl found the back of the net, with assists coming from Brody Wingenbach and Caylen Cey. The Thrashers would keep up the pressure late in the period and it would pay off after Caylen Cey scored to claim the lead for the Thrashers 2-1, with assists coming from Andrew Chapman and Devan Boos.
Just 38 seconds into the second period, the Rams would tie the game back up 2-2, after a Reid Christiansen goal with assists coming off the sticks of Jake Smith and Grady Mofford. Later in the second period, the Thrashers would reclaim the lead 3-2 after a powerplay goal from Porter Pennock, with assists coming from Riggs Ringdahl and Colton Geier. After two periods, the shots were 29-20 in favor of the Thrashers.
The third period saw Riggs Ringdahl score his second goal of the game and would improve the Thrashers lead to 4-2. The Rams would get within one goal at 4:34 of the third period after their second powerplay goal of the game and Reid Christiansen’s second goal of the game, assisted by Kyle Goodrunning and Cale Stecyk. The Rams would keep up the pressure late in the third period and would tie the game 4-4 after Kyle Goodrunning found the back of the net for the 7th time this year, with Kyle Humphrey and Nick Jervis getting the assists. Goodrunning’s late period goal would force the game to overtime.
In overtime, each team managed four shots on net, none of which would go in, forcing the game to a shootout.
Tristan Hoffus would be the lone goal scorer in the shootout for the Rams but it wouldn’t be enough as Andrew Chapman and Riggs Ringdahl would push the Thrashers to victory 5-4 in a shootout.

On Saturday, the Mountainview Colts rolled into town for a date with the Rams.
Despite the Rams outshooting the Colts 43-32, the Rams would end up suffering a 6-3 loss. The Rams struggled on the powerplay against the Colts going 1/9.
Rams goals would come from Kyle Humphrey, who scored twice, once on the power play and once shorthanded, with Tristan Hoffus scoring the other Rams goal.
The Rams are back in action on Friday, Dec. 16, when they travel to Airdrie for a game against the Techmation Thunder. Puck drop is at 8:00 p.m. at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
