A mobile mammography service is visiting Rocky Mountain House this week.
A mammogram is described as an X-ray of the breast and according to health officials, has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Early detection is said to allow for a greater number of options for treatment and a better chance of survival.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) says women between the ages of 45 to 74 is the group most at risk of developing breast cancer. Women will have local access to mammography services this week when Alberta Health Services’ Screen Test program visits Rocky Mountain House.
According to AHS, a mobile mammography trailer will be stationed at the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre located at, 5016 52 Ave. from Jan. 24 until Jan. 31.

Due to COVID-19, AHS says Screen Test is taking a number of precautions to ensure the safety of clients and staff. Details will be shared when you call to book your appointment.
