Clearwater County’s Public Works department is preparing for a busy construction season.
Below you will find information about some of the projects in 2023:
Nordegg Projects
Nordegg Paving Projects
Stuart Street Asphalt Overlay, Quarry Road, Coal Miner’s Crescent, Commercial Core Phase 1, Residential Subdivision Phase 2 (Lily Ave), Manufactured Home Park, Nordegg Public Services Building Parking Lot. Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2023.
Nordegg Residential Subdivision Phase 2 (Lily Ave)
Project includes shallow utilities and landscaping. Anticipated Completion Date: Landscaping – August 3t, 2023.
Nordegg Industrial Subdivision Phase 2
Project is located within N 16-40-15-W5M and includes constructing 14 additional industrial lots, upgrades to the storm pond and installation of an underground fire storage tank (cistern). Anticipated Completion Date: October 15, 2023.
Nordegg Water Meters
Project includes installing water meters throughout the Hamlet. A contractor will be installing the meters on the resident or businesses waterline within their property. The contractor will be contacting individuals for an installation date. Anticipated Completion Date: Winter 2023.
Nordegg North Subdivision, Tamarack Trail Dry Hydrant Upgrade
Project includes installation of an underground fire storage tank (cistern) along with a hydrant head. This project will be at the location of the existing dry hydrant/storm pond along Tamarack Trail. Anticipated Completion Date: October 15, 2023.
Nordegg South Access Road
County officials say the new access will provide a direct route for quarry traffic to Highway 11, reducing the amount of heavy traffic within the Hamlet. Detailed design of the road and bridge is expected to be completed within 2023. Due to the complexity and approvals around this project, the project is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2024. Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2024.
The timing and the duration of these projects will be subject to contractor scheduling and weather. As with most major construction projects, some travel delays are expected. The County says it understands these delays can be an inconvenience but your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Projects may be rescheduled or removed from current project year when required by the County.
Leslieville East Road Paving
Clearwater County will be paving Township Road 39-4A (Leslieville East Road) from Hwy 761 east for approximately 6.3 km. Work on this road is anticipated to commence in the summer of 2023 and conclude in the fall.
The timing and the duration of this project will be subject to contractor scheduling and weather. As with most major construction projects, some travel delays are expected. The County says it understands these delays can be an inconvenience but your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Leslieville Recreation Area
Clearwater County will be constructing a recreation area located at SW 25-39-05- WSM, behind the Leslieville Public Service Building. The recreation area consists of a baseball diamond, soccer pitch, washroom facility, playground area, and parking lot.
The project is scheduled to begin in May 2023. However, the timing and the duration of this project will be subject to contractor scheduling and weather. The County says it understands construction may be an inconvenience but your patience and understanding is appreciated.
River Road (Range Road 7-3A) Paving
Clearwater County will be paving approximately 3.94 km of RR 7-3A from Highway 11A north to Highway 11 in 2023. Work is anticipated to commence in the summer of 2023 and conclude in the fall of 2023.
