High temperatures thought central Alberta broke records throughout Clearwater and Brazeau Counties on Sunday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Nordegg area broke its old record of 27.5 degrees Celsius, set back in 1978 with a new record of 27.6 degrees Celsius. Records in the area have been kept since 1915.
Meanwhile, Sundre also broke its 2021 record of 27.3 degrees Celsius. The new record set on Sunday was 28.4 degrees Celsius. Records in this area have been kept since 1993.
Finally, Breton set a record of 27.9 degrees Celsius, beating its old record of 27.5 degrees Celsius set in 2004. Records in this area have been kept since 1939.
