The Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site will be hosting Canada Day celebrations on July 1.
The day will kick off at 12:00 p.m. with cultural performances, followed by live music beginning at 6:00 p.m. The evening will wrap up at 11:30 p.m. with fireworks.
Other events happening at the National Historic Site include:
- Car show
- Heli rides
- Axe throwing
- Face painting
- Wagon rides
- Whimsical princesses
- Toonie carnival
- Food vendors
Meanwhile, in Sundre on July 1, there will be a car show with registration for that open from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., with awards being handed out at 1:30 p.m.. While this is all happening at Pioneer Village there will also be live entertainment from noon up until 2:00 p.m.
Other events in Sundre include:
- 10:00-2:00 p.m. – Museum Gallery and World of Wildlife – Admission is by donation. (No pets)
- 11:00 a.m.- Flag Raising Ceremony
- 11:30 – 12:30 p.m.- Free BBQ, hosted by town council
- 1:00 p.m. – Canada cake cutting ceremony and serving
- As well as an artisan market from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Elks Hall
- Bergen Farmers market 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
