Clearwater County is seeking five residents, plus one alternate member, to join its new Agricultural Appeal Board.
County officials say it is a requirement that all members of the board are residents of Clearwater County. These appointments will be effective for a term of four months.
The purpose of this board is to hear and determine appeals of notices issued to landowners under the province’s Agricultural Pests Act and Weed Control Act. This board will meet at least once per year and then only if an appeal is received.
Each year, Clearwater County council appoints elected officials and citizens to over 40 boards and committees throughout the County.
These boards and committees are established by Clearwater council through bylaws and may be delegated to certain duties such as providing advice to council on a range of municipal issues that help shape the community. County officials say the boards and committees are diverse, independent and impartial.
These boards are made up of dedicated volunteers from across the County with varied skills, backgrounds and experience.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 14, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.
