The Town of Rocky Mountain House is looking into the possibility of constructing a new civic building.
After reviewing a building evaluation report in 2011 and a 2022 feasibility study, Town officials say the existing Town Office, was built in 1973, and is beyond its life expectancy.
The study evaluated the current state of the Town Office and the present and future spatial needs of municipal operations and services. As a result of the study, council is now considering using the Town’s solid financial status to create a new civic building that will meet the needs of the community.

However, if council chooses to move ahead with the planning and construction of a new civic building, they could use it as more than just a town hall building. Officials note many communities use their civic buildings to host other services or share public spaces with other organizations, potently local non-profits.
Before moving further ahead in the planning process, council would like to hear from the residents of Rocky about its vision and priorities.
