The Nordegg Cemetery will have specialized maintenance being done in August.

Clearwater County officials say, due to increasing concerns with safety and aesthetics of the old Nordegg Cemetery, Clearwater County is conducting specialized maintenance to address the major issues.

According to the County, this may include shoring up headstones, removing broken grave covers and replacing deteriorating fences. County officials note the goal is to make sure the cemetery is safe and well-kept for everyone to visit. Officials say the work will be respectfully handled by a skilled professional, experienced in cemetery rehabilitation.

The planned maintenance will start on August 21, 2023. The completion date is weather dependent and expected to continue into September.
