The Rocky Rams are ready to open their season this weekend with their home opener.
This will be the first game of the regular season for the Rams since being eliminated in last year’s semifinals against the Sylvan Lake Wranglers.
The Rams will be looking to improve from their record last year when they finished 14-19-5, which was good enough for fourth place in the Northern Division.
The Rams will face off on Saturday, when the Airdrie Techmation Thunder come to town. Warmups start at 7:00 p.m. with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m.. Tickets will be sold at the door starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Rocky Rams will follow up their game on Saturday, with another game on Sunday when the Strathmore Wheatland Kings travel to Rocky. Puck drop is at 2:30 p.m. at Rocky Arena.
The Rams are also asking residents who are planning on going to the game to be there early in joining them in the pre-game ceremony as they pay respect in a special tribute to #19 Cale Stecyk.
Stecyk passed away in an avalanche on April 22, 2023 at the Lake Louise Ski Resort.
