The Asokewin Friendship Centre is inviting community members to join their walk to highlight the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, on September 30.
Officials say this day honours the children who never returned home, as well as the survivors, of residential schools.
Residents attending the walk are asked to meet at the Asokewin Friendship Centre (4917 – 52 Street) where the walk to Curtis Field will start at 11:00 a.m. The event will run until 2:00 p.m., and include drummers and a round dance.
If you do not have an orange shirt and would like to purchase one, they will be sold at the event for $30.
