Clearwater County is hosting a FireSmart workshop for local residents to learn how to determine and mitigate wildfire risk to your residential property or home.

County officials say this workshop is hosted in conjunction with FireSmart Canada, Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services (CRFRS) and Alberta Forestry and Parks.

The workshop is on Oct. 25, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Frisco Hall.

Officials say there will be valuable demonstrations, door prizes and take-home literature. The agenda includes:

•  Alberta Forestry and Parks, Wildfire Technologist – FireSmart Disciplines, how to protect your home/community from wildfire
•  Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services/WUI Team – Home Owner Assessments
•  Coffee Break
•  Pruning Demonstration

County officials remind residents to dress for the weather as a portion of the workshop will be outdoors.
