The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre is re-opening today (Dec 12).
Town officials note, the 2023 Capital Budget earmarked $1.4 million for the Aquatic Centre. Officials say, this includes $700,000 to replace the main pool filtration system and $700,000 to replace the HVAC system, which has been in the pool since 1977.
The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre closed on Sept. 1, and was supposed to re-open on Dec. 1, but due to construction delays of the new air handling system and main pool filtration equipment, the opening got pushed back.
The Town thanks residents as they worked through construction delays.
Public swims are returning to the Aquatic Centre on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through December from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
The Dive-in Movie (The Grinch Who Stole Christmas) will go ahead Friday, Dec. 14. Residents can get their tickets in advance.
