A record warm spell continued throughout the province on Tuesday, breaking daily high temperature records.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Rocky Mountain House area set a new record high for Jan. 30, with the temperature reaching 15.0 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 14.4 degrees Celsius set in 1962. Records in the Rocky area have been kept since 1915.
Meanwhile, the Sundre area also set a new record high for Jan. 30, with the temperature reaching 14.9 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 10.8 degrees Celsius set in 2009. Records in the Sundre area have been kept since 1993.
The Nordegg area also set a new daily high temperatures for Jan. 30, with a new record of 14.3 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 11.6 degrees Celsius, also set in 2009. Records in the Nordegg area have been kept 1915.
Breton also broke a record high temperature on Jan. 30, reaching 12.9 degrees Celsius, and surpassing the previous record of 11.0 degrees Celsius set in 1992. Records in this area have been kept since 1939.
