The Town of Rocky Mountain House is having its first day of advanced voting for the up-coming municipal by-election.

The by-election is to fill a town councillor spot that has been vacant since the resignation of former councillor Shane Boniface on Nov. 7, 2023.

Advanced voting will run Feb. 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Subway Room at the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre.

The official list of candidates includes:

• Sarah Fotty
• Stella Herron
• Anna-Marie Loomis
• Ken Moesker
• Glen Waskewitch

To be eligible to vote in the February 26 by-election, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old as of Feb. 26, 2024.
• Be a Canadian citizen.
• Be a resident of the Town of Rocky Mountain House on election day.
• Provide authorized voter identification.
