The Rocky Community Learning Council and Campus Alberta Central are inviting everyone to learn more about careers in health care at their upcoming open house and employer fair.
Jana Tompson, Executive Director for the Rocky Learning Centre says this open house is for anyone interested in getting into the health care aide certificate program or the licensed practical nurse diploma program.
“People can come in and find answers to any questions they may have or don’t know that they have yet,” says Thompson. “Questions in regards to qualifications to get into the program. What employment options would look like once they complete the program.”
Thompson also says students can gain credentials close to home.
“All the training is local,” says Thompson. “For both of the programs where they have to do lab time, the lab is right here in Rocky Mountain House. So they’ll actually get to do a little tour of the lab.
Thompson says that training is done through Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) and the institution will have representatives present at the open house.
Thompson adds that both career paths are in high demand.
The open house will be will run Thursday April 18, 2024 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Confluence Campus in Rocky.
