Following a round of eliminations on April 4, remaining contestants with the Rocky Youth Talent Contest will be brining their talents back to the Royal Canadian Legion stage on April 18.
Organizer Denise Hills says there are a couple rounds of auditions for the finals.
“Everyone comes to the Legion on April 4 and they perform their talents. We eliminate some people on April 4, we move forward to April 18 with the remaining contestants. We do eliminations again and then May 2 is our finals.”
Hills also notes that the public is invited to come watch any of the performances.
“Anyone can come. There is a $5 cover charge with all the proceeds going back into the community.”
Hills says there’s a wide variety of talent remaining in the contest.
“We’ve still got our rap freestyle. Two different gymnastics routines slash dance routines. Then some guitar and singing.”
Hills adds, there will be pub-style refreshments available from Wings n’ Things.
The contest, put on by the Rocky Mountain House Lions Club, will happen at the Royal Canadian Legion on 49 Street with doors opening at 5:30 p.m and the performances at 7:00 p.m.
