Rocky Mountain House RCMP officials say officers safely executed the arrest of a high risk individual at the Sportsman Trailer Park Monday evening.
Officials say they received a report of shots being fired at vehicles and residences at the trailer park.
They say upon arrival at around 8:20 p.m., officers located a suspect who, before retreating into a home, fired a flare gun at officers.
Officials added that RCMP contained the area, advised local residents to shelter in place and deployed both the Police Dog Service as well as the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
They say officers as well as ERT negotiators were able to make contact with the suspect, and after lengthy negotiations, the event was successfully deescalated. The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.
RCMP officials add a search of the property located pellet and airsoft guns, as well as a flare gun which police believe were used in the offenses.
RCMP say they have charges pending against a Rocky Mountain House resident.
RCMP officials note there were no injuries during the arrest.
