It’s a garage saler’s paradise in Rocky Mountain House this week.
The Rocky Organization for Animal Rescue (ROAR) is hosting a fundraising garage sale from May 8-11 at the Royal Canadian Legion (4911 49 Street).
Lori Gray, office manager, says the garage sale is one of the organization’s main fundraisers of the year, and demand for animal rescue services is growing in the community.
“We take in stray, abused and abandoned animals in our community. We house them, we try to find their owners,” says Gray. “A lot of the time, they don’t get claimed. Then we take them to the vet, make sure there’s no underlying diseases, get them dewormed, vaccinated, and tattooed so if they get lost again, we can get them home.”
Gray adds people can make an offer on garage sale items.
Donations are being accepted at the Legion until the sale ends May 11.
Sale times:
- Wednesday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
