The weekly Caroline Farmers Market returns to the Caroline Campground every Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Featuring around 25-30 vendors every week, organizers say visitors will see a wide variety of vendors from home-made baked bread, local beef and bison, fresh fruit and veggies, local crafts as well as commercial home-based businesses.
Marcy Bloss, market manager, says the market has been going on for so long, it’s hard to remember its exact origins.
“The market has been probably been going on since the early 60s, we’re trying to find out the exact date, but nobody seems to know,” says Bloss.
While the vendors are a main draw, Bloss says the market typically features entertainment such as buskers, and performances from local musicians such as Clearwater Strings.
Bloss says the July 12 market will have plenty of opportunity for visitors to beat the heat, as the market takes place in a shaded area, as well as supplied water and food trucks serving refreshments such as ice cream.
Vendors are welcome to sign up to be part of the market at any point during the summer, says Bloss, and can call 403-728-3097 to get signed up.
The market runs every Friday until September long weekend.
